Andy and I became friends at Stuyvesant HS when our whole lives were ahead of us. He was a good and kind young man then and a man of character in medical school. I send a heartfelt hug to his family.

I remember Andy from 27th St. in Astoria when we raised our children together and that will always be a precious memory. I spoke to Andy a couple of years ago when he helped me with my husband’s illness and he was so kind and so willing to help. It is heartbreaking that he had to leave so soon.
Sending all my love to the Spiteri family. Andy was such an amazing guy and a true friend. I am better for having known him and only wish he and I didn't live across the country from each other so we could have spent more time together. Rest easy, dear friend. We will meet again. Buttered Stones forever.
Words can't express the sadness and heartbreak we feel for Andy's family. His parent's are friends since the boys were little growing up in Astoria. He was a wonderful man, brother, son & father. Rest in peace. Our deepest sympathy, Rosemarie & Richie
Deeply saddened by the passing and I hope that the Spiteri family’s hearts heal quickly. Andy and I had such a nice “fantasy” friendship. I know it started with fantasy sports, but it ended with mutual respect. He called me to discuss vacation plans he was making with his wife. Despite my constant annoyance of bringing up the Adam Wainwright strikeout of Carlos Beltran, he still sent me baseball cards of my favorite Cardinals players. Selfless, humorous, intelligent and so hard working. You will be missed Andy!
Can’t believe it. Andy was one of my first friends back in the day in Astoria. We were 3 or 4 years old when we met. We played so many sports together often taking on the older kids on the block. Did you know Andy always wanted to a doctor and studied hard always. I was Mr. Spock and he was always Bones right down to his last breath. My deepest condolences to his family and all who knew him. So grateful for the times and milestones we shared along the way. Live long and prosper wherever your spirit has taken you old friend. You will always be a grounding force and an inspiration for generations to come. RIP. 🖖🙏🏼
You will always be remembered rest in peace cousin Andy 🌹🌹🌹

Dear Norma and Family,
We are so sorry at the loss of your dear Andy. You will continue to be in our prayers. God is always looking over us. Jesus said "I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart; I have overcome the world." John 16:33
Elizabeth and I want to offer our heartfelt condolences to Norma, Tom, and Donna on Andy's loss. With our sons, Connor and Liam, we were neighbors of the Spiteri family for 14 years in Holland, PA before moving to Houston, TX in 2012. Difficult to hear of Andy's long and trying health struggles, but we will remember him as good man with a sharp sense of humor, especially regarding his his favorite sports teams.
So sorry for your loss, and may he rest in peace.
Our deepest condolences. We will always remember Andy’s smile and his enthusiasm and passion for his kids. What fun we all had on the sidelines of the soccer field. You will truly be missed.
