Condolences for Michael Francis McManus

Sandy LowesWednesday, March 18th

My deepest sympathy is with Michaels family. Mike was my “brother” and my heart just hurts to be writing this. He was always giving, loving and full of laughter, and major dance moves. His kindness and genuine friendship was family. He will never be forgotten, only loved. In this unfortunate time, I hope a memorial in his memory will occur at some point. We will all celebrate your life Mike, that’s a promise! Sending much love and peace to you, your family and friends who love you for all time. I will always hold your memory and your love in my heart. Until we meet again my brother.

Mike was a wonderfully supportive neighbor who never failed to offer assistance whenever he was around. While we were very different people in terms of background and temperament, as we got to know each other a real friendship developed. I found myself sharing stories about Mike's quirky habits and unexpected kindness with family and friends. How he violated protocols to help a woman he had just met retrieve a trunk of air looms from the attic of a disintegrating house after the Houston hurricane. Mike would insist on helping blow away grass clippings after I had mowed the lawn, instead of watching me sweep them away. While Mike was sometimes rough around the edges, at bottom he was warm-hearted guy who was devoted to his family and loved to help other people. I miss having him in my life.
