Eileen Reed (Emanuel)

Eileen P. Reed, 76, of Newtown, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 26, 2022. Daughter of the late Eugene J. and Elenor J. (Hannah) Emanuel, she was born May 3, 1945 in Macon, GA. As an army child, she relocated often before settling in both Brigantine, NJ and Bucks County, PA for most of her adult life.

Eileen was a lifelong learner, with a keen interest in understanding the detail of exactly how things worked, especially technology. It was this curiosity that ultimately led her to Telecommunications Demonstration and Sales, where she enjoyed a long and successful career with NJ Bell Telephone, AT&T and Lucent Technologies before retiring in July of 2000 to devote significant time to her two granddaughters. She also had a strong passion for, and was actively involved in several local and national political, social & charitable organizations.

Eileen will be dearly missed and remembered for her love and devotion to her family, friends and community. She is survived by her son, Keith M. Reed and his wife Jodi of Newtown; two granddaughters, Devon and Shelby; her brother, Michael Emanuel and his wife Lisa of Fernandina Beach, FL; and two nephews, Aaron and Andrew “Ace”.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family from 5:00PM to 6:00PM, followed by a memorial service at 6:00PM on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro. Interment will be private.
