Sally Ann Lombardi (Cook)

A loving, vibrant and caring soul, Sally Ann Lombardi, longtime resident of Newtown, PA, died peacefully on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Brookdale of Northampton. She was 83 years old.

Sally was the beloved wife of the late Vincent A. Lombardi with whom she shared many happy years of laughter, family, fond memories of love through 53-plus years of marriage.

Born in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late John and Mildred Hungerford Cook. Her family settled in Hamilton Township, New Jersey. She then taught in the Hamilton Township School District for nearly 35 years. The majority of her time teaching was at Reynolds middle school as a 7th grade math teacher. She was Reynolds first teacher of the year in 1986. Sally loved teaching and loved teaching middle school children. She believed that all children were capable of learning through patience and care. Her teaching career began after graduating from the College of New Jersey in 1960.

Sally spent many summers on Long Beach Island, NJ. and could be found at the Surf City Yacht Club with friends and family most weekends. An avid cross-stitcher, she stitched beautiful and artistic gifts for family and friends. Also an avid reader, she was a member of several book clubs and knew the latest and greatest read. A doting grandmother to Antonio, she enjoyed family gatherings, meals, and a good crab cake.

Sally is survived by her loving and devote children; Anne M. Iacono (Carlo), Valerie Shulman, Vincent Alan Lombardi (Linda), Christopher Buss Lombardi (Jan), and she is also survived by her grandchildren Antonio Iacono, Katherine Shulman, Graham Lombardi and her sisters Catherine Churchill-Murray and Sr. Marie Cook R.S.M., as well as many living nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her brother Jack Cook.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 9:00am to 10:00am in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 and to her Funeral Mass 10:30AM St. Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road Newtown, PA 18940. Her interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Newtown.
