Joseph Conrad Long, Sr.

Joseph “Joe” C. Long, Sr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 11, 2020.  He was 76. 

Joe was the beloved husband to Maryellen T. Philipps Long for 55 wonderful and beautiful years.

Born in Philadelphia, Joe was the son of the late John Otis and Catherine Graeber Long, and brother to the late John Long and Elizabeth Long Yadevia.

Joe grew up in Northeast Philly, spent his summers in Stone Harbor, NJ and graduated from Father Judge High School and remained a true Crusader.  He earned his Associates Degree from York Junior College.

He dedicated 50+ years as a manufacturer’s representative in the furniture industry, earning many sales awards throughout his career.

Joe was a sports enthusiast and was very passionate about all Philly sports.  He especially loved his Eagles!  He was blessed with numerous friends with whom he participated in various clubs and activities, his favorite being the Pine Tree Golf Club.  Most of all, he treasured being surrounded by his loving family.

In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by his loving children; Lisa Rodak and her husband Dave of Warrington, Susan Haschets and her husband Chuck of Doylestown, Christine Friel and her husband Shawn of Quakertown, and Joseph Long, Jr. and his wife Chanda of Warrington, as well as his twin brother James Otis Long of Churchville, his 16 grandchildren; David, Nick, Josh, Danielle, Jenny, Jordan, Michael, Andrew, Daniel, Stephanie, Joseph III, Tori, Morgan, Alex, Stephen, and Matthew, his brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with social distancing, relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to Joe without a family greeting period on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 11:00 AM until his Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966.  At the request of the family, his interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joe’s name may be made to the Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111, or to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, 3401 Civic Center Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
