Edward J. Cunningham
Edward J. Cunningham passed away peacefully on June 1, 2019. He was 76.
In 1943, Ed was born in Manhattan, NY to the late James and Mary Coffey Cunningham.
He was the beloved husband to Constance M. Gentili Cunningham for 41 years. In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by his mother-in-law Candida Gentili, sister-in-law Christine Gentili, nieces Dana Morrissey and Maureen Towson, and nephew Seth Morrissey.
Ed enjoyed a career in accounting, working for both private firms and later for the state of New Jersey for almost 30 years. But his life outside of work was ever full of hobbies and interests. Ed was a gifted athlete -- marathons, triathlons, cycling and tennis were fixtures in his life; he had a passion for great music, especially rock and opera; he raised and showed many beloved dogs; and he loved spending time abroad with his wife. His family and friends will remember him for his colorful stories and dry sense of humor, but above all for his generosity. For those he loved, Ed gave of himself in every way.
Relatives and friends are invited to Ed’s Funeral Mass on Friday, June 7th at 11:00 AM, at St. Martin of Tours Church, 1 Riverstone Circle, New Hope, PA 18938. Ed’s internment will be held privately for his family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ed’s name may be made to his alma mater, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. https://give.louisiana.edu/give-now
