Jonathan TiradoFriday, July 21st

Steve… you were so kind to me from the day i met you. Thank you for being a ear to listen and voice of understanding and reason. You always explained to me how important it is to be a family first man and when my baby girl is here in November i will stay true to that. Your presence was impactful. Your kindness so very appreciated. Rest in peace. And blessings to you and the entire family.

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I knew Steve from Penn State, he was always kind and friendly, outgoing.. last time I saw him was a few years ago at the dog park. He was still as handsome as ever. Truly sorry to hear this.

William StukesFriday, July 21st

Met Stephen back in Steve Jr’s 8th grade year. As my son Amar and Steve jr were being recruited to play at Lasalle high school. I tried to get Steve jr on my Aau squad. But he had a prior commitment. Stephen Sr and I have been friends ever since. One of the greatest family men I have ever meant. Full of life and full of humor. Tears poured out as I got the call. Definitely will be missed. My heart goes out to Steph, Steven, Zach and Ashley. I can speak for Stukes family and myself in saying We had lotta love and respect for Stephen and he will not be forgotten.

Steve I will never forget all the jokes and stories all the years of cutting your hair and chatting it up on the soccer field with our girls! Seeing you a few weeks ago in ambler , seeing you shine talking about the kids and life, asking about my life kids, you are and always will be one of the best men I have known ! See you on the flip side , heaven just got an amazing Angel

Stephen was an incredible person and friend. I met him when we were sophomores at Penn State and he was so full of life. He loved his friends and family dearly. He often spoke of his sisters and parents and his hometown and how lucky he was to have such a wonderful family. Steve was so proud of his children. He spoke of his family as a self-contained fun unit and looked forward to when they were all living nearby again. May God comfort your family and all his friends during this time. Heaven certainly gained an angel.

Steph, Steve, Zach, and Ashley,

Words cannot express how much your father means to me both personally and professionally, and how sorry I am to hear of his passing. Your father is a great man, and please know that his wisdom, guidance, love and support will always be with you, and no doubt will continue to shape who you are, and will become, as you journey through life.

I’ll miss your father dearly, and will keep him, your mother, and all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,
Fred Santoro

I am so saddened to hear of Steve’s passing. I met him a few years back while walking our dogs in the neighborhood. We bonded over our mutual Penn State experiences and our love of our dogs. I looked forward to seeing his contagious smile and hearing his stories when we bumped into each other and will miss that.
He was so proud of all of his kids-I feel like I know you but have only met Ashley. May his memory always be a blessing to you all.
Elaine (& Joey too)

Seeing this post shocked me. I was a friend from Penn State who didn’t have a lot of recent contact with him. I did however, catch up with him last year when I unexpectedly ran into him at a Realtor friend’s picnic in Berks County. After a quick ‘double take’ by both, we quickly caught up as if we were back in University Park. Shocked and Saddened…I pass along lots of prayers and peaceful loving energy to his immediate and extended family.

Steve was a role model family man and always kind, engaging and interesting! We had the pleasure of meeting him 20 years ago when our children started school at GMA. I ran into Steve twice in the last month, Costco and MMR, we talked about our kids and sports! He made a lasting impression on so many families and we send our heartfelt sympathy to his children, family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

I knew Steve from Penn State and took an instant liking to him. We shared a LOT of laughs. I feel bad that we haven’t stayed in contact over the years but I’m comforted that he became the person he did; sounds like he was a great friend to many and an even better father to four. It’s not surprising. Much love to the family, may you somehow find peace.

I met Steve though my wresting background & mutual friends Neil Duncan Chris Bev & many others. I only really new Steve as Smitty that’s what we all called him. Steve would come out to Long Island in the summer time along with all the other Penn St. wrestlers & we would have a blast. We had many beach parties & Smitty always was the life of the party. He made us laugh until we would fall over. I used to do this crazy dance called the Chicken & Smitty would egg me on to do it where ever we were & of course I would oblige. He left the greatest impression on me as one of the sweetest, funniest & liver of life that nobody else could. Unfortunately I lost contact with him over the years but never ever forgot him. My deep condolences to his family for their loss. May he rest in peace. Kenny Klein

I worked with Steve at SEI and logged many memorable visits with him and his SEI Community Banking clients early on.
Steve was by far my favorite SEI salesperson and one of my favorite people period. His clients absolutely loved and trusted him to have their best interests top of mind as they partnered with SEI.
The author(s) of Steve's obituary perfectly captured his essence as I knew him. We immediately connected through our mutual appreciation of each's sense of humor - and "just getting it". Felt like a brother to me.
Seeing - and hearing - Steve approaching from a distance always rising upward on the pads of his feet with such engaging energy and with that widening grin & glinty smile in his eyes ... I could not help but laugh out loud knowing I was in for an enjoyable "exchange of banter" and for sure a productive share of information.
No surprise to hear so many were struck by Steve's love & passion for his children and family. So heart wrenching that his presence has been lost to all far too soon. So very heart warming that Steve LIVED with such a zest for Life. Hard Hugs to his Loved Ones!

What a wonderful legacy my friend, Steve, has left us all. When studying, while we both agreed a graph was welcomed; the “Actuary” figured he could just skip the verbiage…I skipped the graph. All those little banks had a big voice through Steve. Of all the things I learned from Steve, you all know that “what goes on on the road, stays on the road”.

Our families thoughts, prayers and condolences are with the Smith Family. I grew up with Steve in the Queen of the Universe wresting program and through middle and high-school. They had split Neshaminy into Maple Point and Neshaminy. Steve was a standout wrestler and football player but was a much better person and leader. His contagious smile and personality will be missed.
Our condolences to his beautiful family.

Steve seemed to be someone who would live forever; and having had such an impact on so many maybe he will.
Trying to follow his example of what’s possible set off a trajectory that is still ongoing and wouldn’t have otherwise happened.
Condolences to the Smith family. The bar was set high with positive vibes, encouragement and leadership that made a real difference.
