Mary Anne "MAB" L. Boyd (McGuckin)

Mary Anne L. “MAB” Boyd (nee McGuckin), on November 16, 2024 in Moorestown, New Jersey.

She was the beloved wife of the late John R., Daughter of the late John and Kathleen Bradley McGuckin, Sister of the late Kathleen McColgan, Claire Czarnecki, James, John, William and Thomas McGuckin. Dearest Mother of John R. Boyd Jr. and his wife Sue, Colleen M. Niroda and her husband Andrew, Patrick J. Boyd and his wife Louise.

Mary Anne, known to family and friends as “MAB”, was born in Philadelphia and was a graduate of St. Hubert Catholic High School. She was a Faithful communicant of St. Christopher’s Church for over 37 years while residing in the Somerton section of Philadelphia.

Mary Anne, was a woman of Faith and Fortitude, she was proud of her children and especially loved her beautiful grandchildren. She was a kind, pleasant, positive soul and known for wanting to make people laugh and smile. She put others before herself and was incredibly supportive and proud of her family. Mary Anne enjoyed dancing, singing, (“the sun will come out tomorrow”), spending time in Ocean City, visiting Notre Dame to watch a football game, cheering on the Philadelphia sports teams and being around people.

In addition to her children, her two sisters, Sister Loretta McGuckin, SSJ, Marguerite Raymond and her husband Peter, and her brother Joseph McGuckin and his wife Rita survive her.  She was especially proud of her fifteen grandchildren; Sean (Allyson), Nicolette and Kristy Boyd, Kalynn and Kylee Niroda, Bridget Bielecki (Tyler), Betsy, Patrick, Jack, Tara, Mark, Erin, Joseph, Shannon and Meghan Boyd. Also, one great grandchild Sloane Boyd and soon to be one more.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 10:00am until her Funeral Mass 11:30am at St. Christopher’s Church 13301 Proctor Rd. Philadelphia. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.

Contributions in her memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust St, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
