Michael A. Rynkewitz Service Information

Michael A. Rynkewitz, of Chalfont, PA died on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia. He was 64.

He was the beloved husband of 36 years to Teresa Benincasa Rynkewitz.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was the son of Stephen Rynkewitz and Mary L. Slysz Rynkewitz.

Mike grew up in Philadelphia and attended Roman High School for three years until his family moved to the Wissinoming Section of Philadelphia his senior year. He then went to Frankford High School and after graduating in 1978 continued on to Delaware Valley College in Doylestown where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

Following college, he worked various jobs before taking a position with the Pennsylvania Wine and Spirits in 1985 and remained with them until retiring as a General Manager in 2018. During his career, you would find him managing any number of the stores in the Philadelphia and Bucks County area. In 1988, he married his beloved Teresa at Our Lady of Consolation Church and lived in the Holmesburg Section of Philadelphia until moving to Chalfont, in 2005.

Growing up in Philadelphia, sports were ever-present in Mike’s life. He played football and was a tried and true Phillies fan. However, his football team was not the Eagles it was the Pittsburgh Steelers. He knew everything about them and was not ashamed to let anyone know that he was dyed in the Black and Gold, NOT Eagles green.  In 1999, his passion for sports turned into a business when he established Rynk's Memorabilia, specializing in high-quality authentic signed sports memorabilia and celebrity autographs. He made many friends traveling to conventions and shows throughout the Delaware Valley and as far south as Chantilly, VA. His authentic, Hall of Fame autographed items including framed photographs, personal checks both sports and celebrity checks, bobble heads, baseballs, bats, Hall of Fame Plaque cards, Goal Line art cards and many other items were in a class of their own.

Mike was a good, kind and generous man. He loved spending time with family and friends playing cards, especially his mother in law. For almost every night after dinner, you would find them across the table from one another sparring in a heated 3-handed Pinochle match. He will be dearly missed for all the goodness and kindness that he shared.

In addition to his loving wife, Teresa, he is survived by his brother Stephen J. Rynkewitz Jr. and his wife Darlene of Lewistown, his mother-in-law, Antoinette Benincasa, (late father-in-law Francis Benincasa), his brother-in-law David Benincasa and his wife Carla and his sister-in-law Maureen Benincasa (late husband Francis). He is also survived by his six nieces and nephews; Stefanie LaPolla and her husband Joseph, Chelsea Benincasa, Nicole Benincasa, Brigid Benincasa and her husband Travis Batchelor, Dante Benincasa and Luca Benincasa and his six great-nieces and great-nephews; Conner, Paxton, Molly, Max, Calvin and Thea.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, October 25, 2024, in St. Jude Church, 321 West Butler Ave. Chalfont, PA 18914, from 10:00am until Words of Remembrance, 11:15am and his Funeral to follow at 11:30am.  His interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.
