Robert G. Young

Rob was an extremely loving and loved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend. Born on July 3, 1981, to twenty-year-old Milt and Lynn Young, their oldest child and only son, he soon became big brother to Dawn and Kimmy.

Growing up in Northeast Philadelphia, Rob was an exceptional and enthusiastic soccer goalie at Parkwood Youth Organization. Rob graduated from George Washington High School in 1998 with his best friend Tony, whose home provided a safe place for them to be teenagers and become young adults.

After high school, Rob earned his associates degree in computer programming from CHI Technical Institute and began his twenty-four year career in the fire alarm industry, a career he loved and excelled at in an industry that would bring many close friends into his life.

After weeks of talking about WWE wrestling with her on AOL instant messenger, in December of 2001, Rob met his future wife and partner of twenty-three years, Michelle. The two married just over five years later, on March 31, 2007, and went to the one place they both always wanted to visit: Ireland.

On April 6, 2008, Rob became a father for the first time to Daniel Robert, who Rob nicknamed Danny. Not long after becoming a father, Rob had the joy of becoming an uncle to his sister Dawn and brother-in-law Kenny’s son, Justin.

Rob loved being a father and being an uncle. He and Michelle welcomed Shawn William on April 19, 2010, who Rob has always called Shawny.

His pride of being an uncle would increase over the years with the birth of his three beautiful nieces, Emily, Brianna, and Jenna.

Family life would deal Rob a rough hand with the increasing health and development issues facing Danny and Shawn. And as the ultimate act of selflessness, Rob and Michelle would give up their house and move in with Michelle’s parents to focus on helping their children.

Rob’s in-laws, Rita and Joe Flynn, who Michelle lovingly complained Rob got along too well with, would truly become a second mom and dad to Rob.

After seventeen years of wanting to go back to Ireland, Rob and Michelle were finally able to take their dream trip. Rob spent a week being the happiest he had ever been before he left us on Sunday morning, October 13, 2024.

Rob loved Ireland. He also loved Wildwood and attending festivals there. He and Michelle would often go to Irish Weekend, the BBQ & Blues Festival, and the annual Beer Festival.

He loved Marvel comics and movies, especially Spider-Man, a love he shared with Shawn, who plans to be Spider-Man for the third time this Halloween.

He loved music and going to concerts, a joy he shared with Danny. And although Rob’s music taste rarely matched Danny’s, he was still happy to take Danny to see Tim McGraw multiple times.

Rob and Michelle continued to share their love of wrestling. This year they even got to celebrate WrestleMania being in Philadelphia and attended WWE World.

Rob loved immensely and will continue to be loved immeasurably.

Rob’s Family will receive condolences on Tuesday October 22, 2024 from 9:30am until his Funeral Services 11:00am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro.

Interment Rosedale Memorial Park, Bensalem 19020.

Contributions in his memory would be appreciated to Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Academy 8297 Bustleton Ave. Phila, PA 19152.
