Judith Ann Farquer (Oravec) Service Information

Judith Ann Oravec Farquer died peacefully at home in Langhorne, PA, surrounded by her family on September 19, 2024. She was 78 years old.

Born in Allentown, PA, Judy was the daughter of the late Martin and Ethel (Samu) Oravec. 

Judy was the beloved wife of the late William G. Farquer III, the loving mother of Kimberly Lynn Pfaff (Luis) and Andrew William Farquer (Rebecca), and treasured grandmother of Tara Michelle Pfaff.  She is also survived by her sisters, Rosemary Benya (John) of San Diego, CA and Veronica Moyer of Sterling, VA; nephew, Randall Carraghan, nieces Mary Margaret Todd (Andrew) and Colleen Baker (Anthony), along with their children, Bryce and Logan Todd and Christopher and McKenna Baker; sister-in-law, Karen Farquer of Virginia Beach, VA and nephews Ryan and Sean Farquer. Judy also had many friends she enjoyed keeping in touch with over the years, in particular, her friends from Bethlehem Catholic High School (BECAHI).

Judy grew up in Bethlehem, PA and graduated from Bethlehem Catholic High School in 1963.  During her years at Moravian College, where she majored in American History and graduated in 1967, she met the love of her life, Bill, in Constitutional Law class. They married in 1967 and because of their interest in history, they honeymooned in Williamsburg, Virginia. From that point on, Bill and Judy began a lifelong enthusiasm for U.S. and world travel.

After graduating from college, Judy taught fifth grade in Willingboro, New Jersey. But shortly after taking a few courses in computer programming, she pursued a second career at Bell of PA/Bell Atlantic in 1973 until 1989. From there, she continued at Princeton University where she was the Manager of Graduate Student Awards and Data Systems Coordinator from 1992-2013. Judy was known for her work ethic, her diligence and even her event planning. She was always one to help host a party, either at work or at home.

Judy was knowledgeable and skilled on many topics, especially when it came to food and cooking. She could prepare an amazing lasagna or Hungarian Dobos torte in no time. She enjoyed watching cooking videos and discovering new recipes and it brought her joy to serve home-cooked meals to loved ones. Judy had a never-ending love for nature and gardening. Whether it be tending to a vegetable garden, growing orchids, or caring for the wildlife and birds, she loved being outdoors. Judy also had a passion for genealogy and would work alongside her granddaughter, Tara, to piece together the heritage of her eastern European ancestors.  Judy always loved the time spent with her family. The summers enjoyed at Long Beach Island, holiday festivities, birthday parties, watching movies, traveling to a new place or visiting her Bethlehem roots: we will cherish those memories in our hearts.

Judy had a caring, generous and optimistic spirit. We are so blessed to have had her in our lives and will always remember her love of life.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Judy’s family from 3pm to 5pm, on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Joseph A Fluehr III Funeral Home at 800 Newtown Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) in Richboro, PA 18954. Visitation will also be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, from 10 am until the start of her Funeral Mass at 11 am at St. Andrew Catholic Church at 81 Swamp Road in Newtown, PA 18940.

Judy’s interment will take place privately.
