Rose Marie Rau (Oates)

Rose Marie Rau (Oates), 56 years of Newtown, PA passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends on July 19, 2024. She was born in 1967 in Bristol, PA to the late Harry and Eleanor Oates (Skorupsky), and her late stepfather Raymond Davison.

Rose was a dedicated worker for the Internal Revenue Service for 30 years where she formed many friendships. She was blessed to have Sharon LaRossa as her teacher, mentor, friend and interpreter through all of her life events. Rose connected with many people in her community by sewing memory bears for those who lost a loved one. Rose had a great love of all animals. Her kindness and generosity allowed her to support many local animals.

She is survived by her loving husband William Rau; brother, Carl Oates and wife Bonnie; mother-in-law and father-in law, William and Carol Rau and lifelong friend, Shelley Gunnip; brother-in-law, Chris Rau; sister-in-law, Nicole Rau; nieces, Taylor, Lauren, Alyssa and Ashlynn; nephews, Christopher, Caden and Jayden.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, July 29th from 10am-11:30am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road, Richboro, PA. A memorial service will follow. Interment will take place at All Saints Cemetery, Newtown, PA. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in Rose’s name to Penn Medicine-The Center for Living Donation at https://www.pennmedicine.org, the Abramson Cancer Center at https://giving.apps.upenn.edu or Logan’s Heroes Animal Rescue at https://www.lharinc.org.
