Thomas "Tommy" J. Rose
Thomas J. “Tommy” Rose, of Philadelphia, PA died on Monday, July 15, 2024, at his home. He was 33.
Born in Abington, PA, he was the son of Christopher and Deborah Greener Rose of Warrington and grandson of Genevieve Smith Greener of Warminster and the late John J. Greener and the late James and Virginia Rose.
In addition to his parents and grandmother, he is survived by his fiancé Rachel Rachubinski of Philadelphia and his sister Kristyn Rose Berland and her husband Matthew Berland of West Palm Beach, FL. He is also survived by his maternal aunts and uncles (Sarah Smith of Horsham, Mary Agnes and Frank Steigerwalt of Blooming Glen, and Jennifer and Eric Miller of Doylestown, PA) and maternal cousins (Sarah Jane, Victoria, Michael and Brendan), as well as his paternal aunts and uncles (Cynthia and John DiValentino, James and Shannon Rose and Kenneth Rose) and paternal cousins (Kimberly, Genevieve, John, Jamie and Ashley). Tommy will also be greatly missed by his beloved dog, LadyBird.
Tommy was a graduate of St. Joseph’s University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, and the University of Pennsylvania with a Master of Science in Regulatory Affairs. He held a number of positions at the University of Pennsylvania and in the pharmaceutical industry as a clinical research associate and manager.
Tommy was a compassionate and giving soul who often did acts of kindness quietly and thoughtfully. When friends had no place to go for the holidays, he brought them home and treated them like family. He tutored illiterate men in Kensington and won a distinguished Service Award at St. Joseph’s University.
Tommy was a creative individual who expressed himself in his street art, gardening and culinary adventures. He loved music and played in bands with his friends as a teenager. He had a very quirky sense of humor that made everyone smile when he was in the room. His intelligence was evident whether it was at work, playing Jeopardy or doing the Sunday NY Times Crossword Puzzle. He was a devoted fiancé and dog dad. Life was never boring when Tommy was around.
