Evelyn Myers

Evelyn "Evie" Beyer Myers, of Phillipsburg, NJ died on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospital Bethlehem. She was 76.

She was the beloved wife of 46 years to Theodore W. Myers.

Born in Queens, NY to her parents William and Helen Beyer. She later moved to New Jersey and graduated from Bridgewater High School in 1965. Soon after, she met her first husband, William Pelanne, and had her first child, Kevin. After several years, she and William separated and she married her lifelong partner and husband, Theodore Myers. Their family grew with Theodore’s two children, Brendon and Dana. They established their life together in Finesville, New Jersey, and soon welcomed their last child, Wendy.

Evelyn loved her family above all else. She loved being a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a great grandmother. Evelyn was wonderful at everything she attempted. She excelled at baking and cooking and had an impressive green thumb, evidenced by her extensive outdoor gardens and indoor year round greenhouse. She enjoyed being creative and spend many years painting, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She spent her summers with all her family at the Jersey Shore, either at the beach or on their boat in Seabright. Winters she spent traveling with her family to many islands in the Caribbean.

Later in life, she was able to explore her interest and passion for antiques. With Theodore by her side, they opened Chelsea Forge Antiques and had a successful business doing the thing she loved - meeting people and discovering antiques. Chelsea Forge was where she discovered another love, their shop cat Buddy, who was a constant companion along with their golden retriever, Harley.

Although Evelyn was forced to face incredible health obstacles and challenges, she did it until her last day with strength, humility, and somehow...a smile on her face.

In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her children, Kevin Pelanne and his wife Christine of Riegelsville, PA and their daughter Samantha, her son Brendon Myers and his wife Erica of Easton, PA and their children, Ryan and Carly, her daughter Dana Craver of Princeton, NJ and her daughter Sophia, and her daughter Wendy Myers and her husband, Jedd Hillegass of Hopewell, NJ. She is also survived by her granddaughter Sarah Bauer and her husband William and their son, Graham, her best friend and sister-in-law, Suzanne Todd and her husband Rich Todd, her brother-in-law Dean Myers and his wife Teresa, and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 9:00am until her funeral service, 11:00am at Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18901. A private interment follow in the Barber Burial Grounds, Stockton, NJ.
