Thomas J. Christmann, Jr.

Thomas J. Christmann, Jr., of Richboro passed away Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024, at the age of 72. As he prepared for a homecoming from the hospital that day, he was unexpectedly called to a greater place, his heavenly home. Tom was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 1, 1952, the oldest of seven children, to the late Thomas J. and Eileen K. Christmann (nee Donnelly).

Raised in the parish of St. Henry's and the city streets of Hunting Park where the sense of faith, family and friends abounded, life was wonderfully simple. Tom was an avid Philly sports fan, as witnessed by his 52 years as a Flyers season ticket holder, although he loved cheering on the Phillies, Eagles and Sixers too. He set the bar high for his siblings in his formative years as both a gentleman and a scholar, and no doubt made the world a far better place. Selfless, loving, caring, generous, and strong are just some of the sentiments to describe this man who in a sense was "Uncle Tom" to everyone!

If you crossed his path in life, he would call you " friend." Tom maintained vibrant and lifelong relationships with many friends, cousins and co-workers, but his true love of "his” family was most palpable and undeniable.

Graduating from St. Henry's Elementary School, LaSalle High School, and La Salle College set him up for a successful career that spanned 35 years as an accountant for the city of Philadelphia. His retirement from work was marked by a surprise chauffeured limousine filled with those who loved him best to pick him up on his last day followed by a celebration that he so richly earned. His retirement furthered his love of travel, dining out, cheering on his sports teams and spending time with family and friends. His remarkable resilience in his health struggles, accompanied by nary one complaint, was humbling. In fact, he embraced his dialysis family at DaVita in Warminster.

Tom is survived by his loving and devoted brothers and sisters, Kathleen Zulewski (Richard), Daniel Christmann (Peggy), Eileen Marriott (Robert), Maureen Hickey (Robert), Colleen Kelly (Ken) and Joseph Christmann (Nicole). He will be especially missed by his 26 nieces and nephews and 32 great nieces and nephews in whom he took such a vested interest. Almost never could he speak of one of them without a tear welling. They were truly his pride and joy. No doubt, navigating life without the physical touch of Tom will be our tall order.

Relatives and friends are welcome to greet Tom's family on Tuesday, July 9th, 2024, from 10:00 am until his funeral mass at noon at St. Bede the Venerable Church,1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966 with interment to follow immediately at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Cheltenham.
