Louisa “Anne” Sangiorgio, a cherished resident of Doylestown, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2024, at Bucks County Neshaminy Manor Nursing Home in Warrington, PA, at the age of 96.
Anne was born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Mario and Giulia Bugari, Italian immigrants who instilled in her a deep appreciation for her heritage. She graduated from New Utrecht High School, Brooklyn, NY, in the class of 1946 and went on to attend business school.
Anne was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore Gaetano Sangiorgio. Throughout her life, she lived in Staten Island, NY, Sergeantsville, NJ, and Perkasie, PA.
Anne's life was a testament to the importance of family. Her greatest joy and supreme purpose was to love and serve her family and friends. She was renowned for her exceptional cooking, which she used to bring her family together. Every meal she prepared was an act of love, and she took great pleasure in planning, shopping, cleaning, cooking, and serving her loved ones.
Anne left a profound and lasting impact on everyone she met. Described by her children and grandchildren as loving, trusting, grateful, gentle, accepting, elegant, extraordinary, selfless, devoted, loyal, noble, exceptional, gracious, and kind-hearted, she embodied these qualities throughout her life.
Deeply rooted in tradition and family, Anne cherished her rich Italian heritage and shared its beautiful values through her grace and elegance. Her smile and joy touched the lives of all who knew her until her final days.
A few months before her passing, Anne recalled a quote from her maternal grandmother that she had cherished since childhood: "Tutti in questo mondo dovrebbero essere soddisfatti come me," meaning "Everyone in this world should be satisfied like me." This message encapsulates the contentment and fulfillment she felt in her life.
Anne is survived by her devoted children: Giuliana “Julie” Sangiorgio and her wife Michele Marchioli, Lisa Sangiorgio and her husband Patrick Smith, Anita Marko and her husband Thomas “Tucker” Marko, and Thomas Sangiorgio and his partner Janet Ruccia.
