Joseph William Glatz

Joseph William Glatz of Holland died peacefully at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA on Monday, June 17, 2024.  He was 84.

Joseph was the beloved husband of 36 years to Lita Pizarro Glatz.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Josef and Emily Draschkovitz Glatz.

Joseph grew up in Philadelphia, and obtained his Master’s degree in Engineering from Drexel University. He worked for the navy for 20+ years as an aerospace engineer. His proudest achievement in his service to the Navy was when he helped to save the U.S government $2.1 million dollars.

He was a brilliant yet practical man. Before energy efficiency was even introduced into mainstream media, he was already drafting plans to build an energy efficient underground house. He affectionately called his house the “Holland House”.

Joseph did always have a sense of humor and loved a good time. He let it show especially with his love for anything “Elvis”, with his Elvis wig, and Elvis statue. He loved to take his life size statue to karaoke gigs with him. Karaoke originally was a hobby for Joe. Keeping with his sense of practicality, he turned his hobby into a karaoke rental business.

Joseph was also a man with strong morals, who stuck through with them through the end. He was highly spiritual and always attended Sunday mass. He loved finding the patron saints for various people or things.

Another little quirk about him is that he always had some sort of project going on. He built additions to his house, a small fishpond, with plans to build a bigger fishpond. He was the type of person who didn’t give up when they put their mind to something.

In addition to his beloved wife, Lita, Joseph is survived by his three daughters: Julie, Marlena, and Josie (Jyron).  He is also survived by his sister Marilyn Walker, his grandchildren Jayden, Jyanna and one expected to be born soon; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday Evening, June 20, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00PM in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 and at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road Holland, PA 18966 on Friday, June 21 2024 from 10:00am until his Funeral Mass 11:00AM.  His interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Newtown.
