Donna Lee Hoffmayer (Sands) of Huntingdon Valley, PA and formerly of
Philadelphia, PA died suddenly at 74 years old on Thursday, January 25, 2024.
Donna was the beloved wife of Paul Hoffmayer for 42 years.
Born in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late Richard E., Jr. and Emily Craven Sands and resided in the Lawncrest neighborhood.
In addition to her beloved husband Paul, Donna is survived by her loving and devoted daughters Trisha Dauenbaugh of Harrisburg, PA and Karen Long and her husband Mike, of Harleysville, PA. She is also survived by her brother Richard E. Sands III (Patricia) and her adoring grandchildren Oliver, Gideon, Oskar, and one to be born in May. She is also survived by many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Olney High School in 1967.
She worked at various jobs including John Wanamaker, Peerless Steel and Burpee Seeds. She enjoyed working with children at Churchville Preschool (North & Southampton Reformed Church) and Redemption Preschool before retiring.
Donna had a gift for listening and loving those around her. She was incredibly kind and caring with her words and her actions. She loved to give cards and gifts to show that she cared. She had a great sense of humor and found joy in the small and everyday things. Being grateful and appreciating what she had was an example of Donna's strong faith rooted in God's love. Spending time with Paul and going out together doing daily activities and going on vacations kept their bond strong. They loved to visit their girls and grandchildren for holidays and family get-togethers. For years, Donna and Paul vacationed at Wildwood, NJ beach and her favorite things were riding bikes in the morning, eating pizza on the boardwalk, and sitting on the balcony looking out at the beach and ocean.
