Allen R. Prendergast

Allen R. Prendergast of Holland, PA died peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Fox Chase Cancer Center on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.  He was 84.

He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Geraldine Barrett Prendergast and the loving father of the late Colleen Melvin.

Born in Philadelphia, PA Allen was the son of the late William and Catherine Crabtree Prendergast.

Allen worked for PECO for over 40 years.  He was a longtime and active member of the Knights of Columbus Hennessy Council No. 6145 in Newtown.   He enjoyed long leisurely drives, traveling with friends and family, taking his sons and grandsons to the annual Army/Navy Football Game, and supporting his grandchildren in their extra-curricular activities.  Allen will be greatly missed but eternally loved and remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

In addition to his wife Geri, Allen is survived by his loving and devoted children: Allen G. Prendergast and his wife Cheryl of Horsham, PA Stacy Gasper and her husband Rick of Churchville, PA and Scott Prendergast and his wife Lisa of Chalfont, PA.  He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and his son-in-law Glenn Melvin.  Allen was also expecting the birth of his first great grandchild

Allen’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 10:00am until his Funeral Mass 11:30am in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Rd. (at Tanyard Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954.  His interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Feasterville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675.
