Janet A. Lynn (Remington)

Janet A. Lynn of New Britain passed away on Monday, May 27th, 2019 at her home surrounded by the love of her family.  She was 87.

Janet was the loving wife of the late Joseph W. Lynn, Jr. who passed away in 2002.

Born in Big Springs, NE she was a daughter of the late Byron and Dorthea Shank Remington.

Janet lived a full life and she lived it her way. She grew up on a farm in Big Springs, Nebraska, which was a place she would always feel at home.  But, love would soon find its way to her and along with her husband they would later relocate to Spokane, WA and later Bucks County, PA.

Janet was a self-taught painter specializing in everything from oils and acrylics on canvas to porcelain, pottery and jewelry.  She was also a talented quilter. Professionally she did it all. Janet was a Postmaster for the Pipersville Post office, a hairdresser both privately for her clients and also at the former Heritage Towers, now Wesley Enhanced Living.  Janet also worked for a period of time for the Dairy Queen in Doylestown. There simply was no stopping her and her feisty nature and tenacity kept her moving. It was said that she didn’t ever wake up in the morning without a full plan for the day.  She was independent, fearless, and wasn’t afraid to take on life and see where it would lead her. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are countless people who Janet inspired each and every day including her children, Vickie E. Hawkins of Chalfont, Mark W. Lynn (Staci) of Schnecksville, PA, Jeff L. Lynn (Sharon) of Jamison, and Terry K. Brindisi of New Britain and her grandchildren, Maryanne, Billy, Jessica, Brittany, Jeffrey, Andrew, Kaylyn, and Paige.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Darryl and Reynold Remington and her sister, Phyllis Fransen.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Janet on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 10:00 AM until her Funeral Service 11:00 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18901.  Her interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Central Bucks Senior Center, 700 Shady Retreat Rd. , Doylestown, PA 18901 or to the Pipersville Free Library at 7114 Old Easton Rd., Pipersville, PA  18947.
