Condolences for Richard A. Young

celia burnettWednesday, May 18th

I am praying you and your family find peace and comfort in your memories during this difficult time.

Fred, Katherine and Zach HaeuselThursday, May 19th

Words are not sufficient to communicate what a great friend Rich came to be to our family. What started as a professional relationship led us to count Rich as a true friend who we could count on. His integrity, his incisive wit, his love for animals and his dedication to his family are examples of a rare and valued person Rich was. It's hard to say "was .." I can still hear his voice like we were talking yesterday.

i am so very sorry for loss. We live right across the street and my son was friends and classmates with Hunter and Cole. When i think of Rich, i immediately think of his vegetable stand (i often purchased plants from it!!) as well as the giant CB West flag Rich created in honour of the CB West football team. He always seemed like a hard worker who went out of his way to help others. i wish you comfort in this time of loss. sincerely, Deb Miller

So sorry to hear Rich is gone. He was always such a great person. I hadn’t seen him in several years but when I did it was like no time had passed. Fair winds Rich. I will have a glass of sambuca tonight in your honor.

This is such a sad and sudden shock for us and our community. Our memories of Rich are that of a vivacious person, great husband and loving father. He was always willing to help at a moments notice. We are fortunate to see evidence of Rich's carpentry skill in our home every day. Our kids played together since the age of 6 and remain good friends to this day. What a great legacy Rich leaves to his sons Hunter and Cole. Denise if there is anything we can do for you and your family please ask. Much love, The Martino Family; Robert, Gail, Anthony and Bobby Martino

My thoughts are with you.

Fearless, courageous and innovative describe Rich. Those who knew him well also know that he was a gentle soul who often helped everyone around him. He was a devoted family man and never missed an opportunity to brag about his sons, Hunter and Cole.

Rich was a true Renaissance man who was gifted and skilled in many areas. He was a mechanical genius who was curious about how all things work. The magic happened in his workshop and on the job as he manipulated metal, wood and all other materials. He loved cars and could fix any motor he met. He hunted and grew a garden while playing with the kids and his dogs.

He brilliantly identified and solved problems. He was never constricted by common knowledge but sought unique and well designed answers. He was very creative and had a real eye for great design. His relationship with the world was one of solving problems. He was happiest when multi-tasking all day long and was very understated about his extraordinary abilities.

Rich was too young to be our brother and too old to be our son. He was a very dear friend and was considered a part of our family. He will always live in our fondest memories and in our hearts.

There are no words that can express how sad we are for the loss of Rich. His smile was contagious and his laughter was sincere. Rich found it easy to move to the beat of his own drum while also being generous with his time. May he RIP and be tooling around heaven working on some new project sipping a cold Coors until we all get there and can be warmed by his smile. Our deepest sympathies and love to the Young family and all of Rich’s friends.

We here at Green Leaf Tree service were all sadden to hear the terrible news. Rich will be missed. Only knowing Rich for 6 months we had good conversations and I looked forward to him walking the two dogs in the afternoons.
