Condolences for Elizabeth J. Manes (Bancroft)

Laurel KennedyFriday, January 21st

I am so sorry to hear of Betty’s passing. I was one of her lucky students; she taught me trig junior year. I will never forget her kindness and patience. She had a wonderful ability to explain complex concepts so that they were easily understood. She inspired me to become a math teacher and I will always have a special place for her in my heart. Sending my deepest sympathies to her loving family.

I am saddened by the news of Betty’s passing. I am grateful to God that I had the privilege of teaching in the same department at Truman High School for some years. Betty was a very patient and caring colleague. She will be missed.
I pray that God will comfort her family.

Betty was always a class act. She was a marvelous educator who truly cared for her students. As a fellow teacher at Truman I admired her demeanor and her superb skills in helping students learn.

My niece had the honor of having her for a teacher and loved her. She has recently finished her teaching certification and will carry some Betty’s best traits forward in her teaching.
My heart goes out to her family! You have lost a truly marvelous woman and you have my deepest sympathies. She was a gentle warrior.

I am so incredibly heartbroken to hear the news of Mrs. Manes passing. I consider myself one of the lucky ones who was fortunate enough to have had her as my math teacher 3 out of 4 years at Truman. There was no other teacher like her in the building. I used to tell her she was a true Angel on earth. We formed a special bond over my time in high school and she was someone I never forgot. I can remember how warm and caring she was when I lost my grandmother unexpectedly my senior year, always checking in on me and making sure I didn't fall behind all while she was grieving her very own tragic loss. There truly was no one like her and I am so happy that I got to know her. Thank you Mrs Manes for being a teacher all kids could count on to show up, be present and ever so compassionate. You didn't feel like just a student when you were with her she made you feel like you were family. Rest In Peace Mrs Manes you will never be forgotten.

To the DeFelice Family,.... ,I am truly sorry for the loss of of Betty. She definitely carried her cross and ran the race of a long and induring illness.. her beauty is beyond what she went through and fought the good fight. She is now in a better place and will receive her crown of glory. I will pray for strength and comfort for all her family and friends.
