Dear Robin, Bencker Family, and Friends, Please accept my deepest sympathy at the passing of our beloved Father, Brother and Friend,
Bob always had my respect and admiration at his inner strength to absorb so much suffering and still have a sense of humor and love for God and for those around him. When I commented on his pain level once, he only compared his pain to Christ's and considered Christ's pain of having a nail driven through his hand as much worse than his own pain.
May God comfort all of us who mourn Bob's passing and will miss him, as Bob waits for us to join him in heaven someday.
Condolences for Robert Francis Bencker
Dear Robin and Family, We were blessed to have known this kind and generous man. He worked hard to stay as well as he could for as long as he could. I am in awe of your family's tender loving care of him as he struggled with his burden of illness. As ill as he was, he still emailed me to ask how I was recovering from surgery saying we would 'Talk" as soon as he was able. Sadly, we never got to say our last good byes. I will remember him with love always, I will miss his friendship and all the memories we shared about LC, college years, and our families. Rest In Peace, my friend, util we meet again. With love and prayers for all of you in this great loss, Pete and Jimmy Corrigan and family
Bob was a great friend and I will miss him. We attended St Joseph's together and developed a great friendship. He came to California to see the Rose Parade bands play prior to the event as many times as he could. Those visits I will always cherish. He was a man who battled his disease with courage and patience. We laughed and enjoyed R&B. Bob was a true Patriot and I will miss him. Bob is in a better place and hopefully one day we will be together again and enjoy singing songs as loud as we can.
Ciao Amico.
Dear Robin:
I am writing to tell you how much I liked your Dad and how sad I am about his passing. Heaven will be a better place but we will miss him and feel his absence.
Your Dad was such an interesting man and such an interesting bridge player. I had the good fortune of playing some with him and what a ride it was! He was a fearless bidder and boy was it fun to be his partner.
Some years ago, North Penn had a team game once a month on a Friday night. Your Dad played with Elaine Claire and I played with Carl Ginsberg. We would meet for dinner before the game and that was very enjoyable. He often spoke of you and always with great affection.
Every week we publish a North Penn Bridge Club email. Next week we will have a remembrance for Bob along with a picture and his obituary. I will make sure you are forwarded a copy.
The bridge club is very grateful for your Dad’s support and generosity. Just recently he emailed a couple of us regarding ways to grow the membership. He always had our best interest in mind.
I so admire your Dad's faith and fight. My thoughts are with you and your family.
All best, Toysie
