Condolences for Kathleen M. Striegel (Guilfoyle)

Renee BrookerFriday, October 1st

Mr. and Mrs. Striegel were mainstays in Holmesburg and at St. Dominic's. A real "role model" couple who were loving parents and the kindest, and most gentle people I knew growing up in "tough" Philly. The 5 Striegel girls were blessed to have them as parents. Mrs. Striegel put everyone to shame with her arts and crafts skills. I am blessed and proud to have known them.

She’s with her Charlie now.

for her five little gals.

with our broken hearts.
E is for her TWINKLY eyes
and her love for all the arts.
E is for her ELEGANCE,
simple yet so smart.

Mrs Striegel has taught all of us so much, with how to love and respect one another. Me though unfortunately could never figure out how to do any of her crafts.. still can’t thread a needle. I used to love knocking on her door with a cup of ice asking if she had some ice tea for me. It is so hard to lose a mother but I know she was so happy to see “Mr. Jiggles” at those golden gates. Rest easy Mrs. Striegel, tell all those we lost hello for me. You will forever be in our hearts.

Kay was my neighbor since 2007 when I purchased my house. She was always welcoming and watched my son on many occasions. Her mac and cheese was legendary and I always looked forward to her bringing me some when she would make it. We have never been able to replicate it so i can only assume it was her secret ingredient "love" that im now missing. Her giggle will be missed as well as her warm smile.
