To describe John Newbauer as a family man is an understatement. He often spoke of his wife, children, grandchildren and California friends with fondness and admiration. Was keen on the welfare of his neighbors, a very thoughtful, observant man. We miss hearing his opera music descending the stairs at the townhouse/condo building we shared, reminded me of childhood memories hearing the arias from my aunte & uncle's record collection in Montreal. His stories of world travel and life in California left those who heard feel as if they had been there with him. And he read the New York Times! Hope to see him again sometime in the next life, till then he is missed.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I remember your father’s lovely garden in Brooklyn. It was a treasure. Peace.
