I’m am the luckiest to have Clay not only as a nephew but as my Godson. Clay has shown what hard work and determination can achieve in a lifetime.

Although we did not have the opportunity to get to know Clay and his young wife, we were moved by the courage, commitment, and tremendous love they exhibited during this most difficult of times. So sorry for your loss , i never met Clay but the pictures posted jumped out to me that he was a terrific person , big smile , always surrounded by people who you could tell were very glad to be together with him. Clay was such a ray of sunshine for us at Johnson & Johnson! I had the pleasure of being Clay's supervisor when he worked at the Mentor distribution center in Texas and I always enjoyed his can-do attitude. He was so humble and kind and is an example to all. Prayers from us in Texas.

I had the recent pleasure of having Clay as part of my organization at J&J. Clay had great energy and was a truly kind person. He will be wholly missed by our team.

I worked with Clay for a year in Irving, TX. I never saw Clay have a bad day, and there were bad days. He always had a smile, exuded confidence, and was a true born leader. The type of leader that bridged people together which our country and world needs. He taught this man, 13 years older than him much and made my time away from wife and family easier. I remember telling him “We will all report to you one day and I look forward to that day, Wells”. I wish I had met him earlier in life. I shall never forget his contagious smile and the positive impact he made on me.

Clay was one of my best childhood friends that lived just behind my home. Sleepovers, video games, sports, and random shenanigans with him and our friend group are some of my fondest memories from childhood. He was a great friend and I love and appreciate his family for being such a positive part of my life. The last time I saw Clay was on his 30th birthday in Atlanta, where I think we took the only picture we have of us together. I am so glad, now, that we were able to make that happen. You will be deeply missed, my friend.

We are deeply saddened at the too-early passing of Clay. He possessed a kind and generous heart and a ready smile from his youngest days. He was a treasured friend to our sons and a joy to have in our home. He was inclusive of everyone in having fun, including little tag-a-long sisters on a snowy day. I have so many wonderful family memories growing up with my fun-loving cousin, Clay. He fought such a brave battle, and now he is peacefully surrounded by other family angels. I am not surprised by the love, friendship, caring and devotion that comes through these many written condolences and the characterization everyone speaks about when talking about Clay. He is a shining example and legacy of the upbringing his parents Clayton and Phyllis instilled in him. I remember when Clay was born and received a call from Phyllis stating she couldn't be so far away from him when she worked and agreed to come work with me in her "backyard". I feel as though Phyllis' and Clayton's three children grew up before my eyes. They are such devoted parents. Although I never met Marissa, I pray for her comfort also.
You have an advocate in the most important of places although it will take time to heal. I pray for your family everyday that the beautiful memories will outweigh the sorrow!
