She was a beautiful and caring soul who was a great cardiologist and colleague. She saved many of my patient lives, including my husband’s. I’ll be forever in her debt and hope that she is resting in peace and comfort. May God bless her family and send peace to their hearts.

I send my heartfelt condolences to the Zhang family. I’ve been Dr m. Zhang’s Echo tech at Penn Cardiology since the day we opened. I’ve never met a more brilliant, caring, hard working physician as her. She has become like family to me after all these years. I always looked forward to hearing what she did on the weekend with her family. As busy as she was as a cardiologist she always mad time for her family. I always said to her how do you find the time and energy and she would giggle at me. These past 8 years knowing and working with her have been an honor and I will never forget the impact she had in me. I will love and miss her always. You were the best!

I met Dr Zhang in 2016. We were together for 3 years, through all the changes she continued to care for her patients, even while on vacation. I remember always telling her to enjoy her vacation, her patients can wait or someone else can do and she would just laugh. She would always come In in the mornings and tell us about her dog and the birdies that would always make a nest on her door. We made it through all the Covid changes and she still kept her humor and made sure her staff was taken care of as well as her patients. I’m going to miss you Dr Zhang. It was a pleasure working with you! I’m sure that Yardley Will never be the same with out you! My deep condolences to her family.

Our chats often included how much she loved spending time with her family, how proud she was of Nathan and Annie! You worked so hard sweet Dr. Zhang. Rest In Peace now. You will be missed by many. Gone way too soon but not forgotten.

I would like to offer my deepest condolence to Janet's family. I and Janet started working for Penn Cardiology on the same day in 2013 and it has been such a wonderful experience getting to know her over the years. She has always been the smart, kind hearted and smiling person who always had time to listen to her colleagues and patients. She was always loved by her patients who could not stop complementing her for her soft demeanor and wonderful bedside manners. Over the years, I have got to know her (and her family through her) and have admired her for everything she did. I have always looked up to her for advice about work, life and the balance between these two that she so beautifully maintained.
Her diagnosis of lung cancer was so abrupt and sudden and definitely a shock for all of us. Seeing her go through her therapy with smiles and optimism gave us all hope as we prayed for her health. I am still in shock about her passing on and away from all of us. I am sure her family will always have a void ..... but knowing that she leaves so many loving memories - for everyone who came in contact with her..... should give them comfort in this difficult time. Praying to god for strength and peace for her family.

I have not had the opportunity to meet Dr. Janet Zhang, but from the obituaries it is quite evident that Dr. Zhang was a noble and a divine soul. There are few people in this world like Dr. Zhang, who touch large sections of people seamlessly across various geographies and leave behind their glory. Her contributions to the less fortunate was profound. A rare combination of intellect, service and empathy. May god give strength to her family to cope with this tremendous loss. I pray for the departed soul to rest in peace.

I adored Dr. Zhang who was my cardiologist for the past 4 years. I am just sick over the news of her passing which I just learned today. To her parents, I would like to say thank you for bringing such a wonderful soul into the world. And also to them, as well as to her children and her spouse, I would like to extend my most sincere condolences. I pray you all will be able to integrate her loss into your lives in meaningful ways as the years proceed. She is/was truly a wonderful person, and I am so very, very sorry about her passing. God bless you all.

We have lost a wonderful doctor! She was so caring, but also very knowledgeable and thorough. After I had only minor symptoms, she led me through a diagnosis and repair of a major blockage of the "widowmaker" artery. The Penn doctor who did my stent remarked on her thoroughness - she wrote 12 pages of background about my case! I don't know where she found the hours to do so much work and still have a great family life. We will miss her dearly.

I was stunned and saddened today when I learned of Dr. Zhang's passing. Her caring and thorough diagnosis of my cardio-vascular problems saved my life. I may have said thank you to her when I saw her just a few months ago but now those few words, if I said them, sound so meaningless. Unfortunately there are no words I can think of that will adequately convey my thoughts or make up for what I should have said. Dr. Zhang you will be sorely missed.

Theresa KellyThursday, July 15th

I just learned of Dr Zhang's passing today. She was my cardiologist and one of the best physicians I ever had the pleasure of knowing. Her compassion and love for her patients was such a gift! She always put me at ease and explained all the complexities of cardiac medicine in layman's terms! She was so warm and caring! I will miss her tremendously. My condolences to her beautiful family. May she rest in everlasting peace.

I was a patient of Dr. Zhang's and like so many others owe her much more than I can possibly communicate. When we first met, I was post-op from an emergency and completely unexpected aortal valve replacement. That was coupled with the sudden discovery of a very rare cancer, and she counselled me through these crises in a way that went well beyond mere medical practice. She saved me on many levels. To in turn read of her battle... again there are no words. She was a rare and wonderful practitioner and person. I offer her family my deepest condolences on a loss of immeasurable value. Thank you for sharing her with us.

Janet happens to be one of my Harvard classmates that I remember often. The story behind it is trivial but very personal. When we were freshmen at Harvard (1981-1982), we often ate in the freshman dining hall together. I noticed while eating with her that she had a particular way of eating bananas by peeling then cutting them into pieces before eating these pieces one by one with the fork. Over the years, I often remember Janet whenever I eat a banana, and strangely enough, have changed myself to eating bananas in the manner that she did in the dining hall.

Last year(2020), after not being in touch for decades, I got a call from Janet inviting me to attend the 35th class reunion at Harvard graduation. Unfortunately, I didn’t go, thinking we can get together at our 40th class reunion in 2025. Little did I know that she already had cancer when she called me! Not that I know that was the last time I ever spoke with her, the sadness is hard to describe with words…

Rest In Peace, dear Janet!🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

Marna Brown-KrauszMonday, August 23rd

I just learned of Dr. Zhang's death a few days ago. I am a new patient of hers and I am devastated to hear of her passing. She had only been treating me for less than a year. (Indeed, I never saw her fact as we were both fully masked since I have known her.) But her care was extraordinary. I did not know how severe her illness was. All I know is that she was an amazing physician. She had all of the attributes one looked for in a doctor: warmth, attention to detail, responsiveness, thoroughness, intelligence, dedication to her patients. And for her to have all of these attributes while she, herself, was suffering and trying to survive -- well there are no words for this. I cannot thank her enough for caring for me and I am privileged and honored to have known her for the short time I did. I wish her family my great condolences. May the memories of her console you and may you know that she made a difference in my life, as I suspect she made in many other lives as well. Thank you Dr. Zhang.
