Condolences for Stephen M. Taylor
I am so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful gift he was to so many. May your memories comfort you during this difficult time
Steve gave me some of my greatest memories of 83&84. He will be sorely missed.
Deepest condolences in this difficult time.
“Uncle Steve” has always been kind. Always humble. Very wise. Some people don’t necessarily need to speak tons of words in order to impart strength, wisdom, and love in action as leadership.
I didn’t have all too many direct conversations with Steve, but I know in my gut and in my bones how much he and his family, and the camp, and all of those six degrees of separation have greatly affected us Camp Neumann folk and the world.
I am sending love to you as you mourn the loss of your husband, father, brother, etc. As much as we cherish Steve, he was ultimately that father we all had a small peek into how he guided his kids. He was ultimately the husband of MaryEllen Taylor. He was ultimately their beloved one. Without you, his dearest loved ones, would he have had quite as much understanding for the rest of us from far and wide? Maybe. Steve is just that lovely, but we know YOU have been his love and support as well as companions and team in the mission over all these years. I could clearly see that from my often limited vantage point. The biggest impact comes from you.
Having just watched your photos from a lifetime of love and family, I can see that you had a beautiful life together. I trust that your hearts will be healed with your faith and the support of each other. Steve's smiling eyes in these photos bring back some happy memories for me from my late teens and early twenties.
The following prayer is offered to your family. Mary Ellen, I will visit my church in Charlotte on Monday to remember Steve.
May the LORD
bless you and keep you
the LORD make his face
to shine upon you and
be gracious to you:
the LORD lift up his
countenance upon you
and give you peace.
Numbers 6:24-26
There are no words to express my deepest sympathy to you, Mary Ellen and to Zachary, Matt, and Patrick. Steve was such a great guy, a truly good man. So kind, a gentle Giant.
The slide show is amazing. There is one picture at the camp where I remember being in attendance. It might have been Mama Taylor's birthday.
I am sad for the Taylor clan, especially all his siblings. What great memories you have and to know he is with his parents, his brother, Jimmy, and his sister, Kate, and at peace.
God bless you all. Love, Carolyn
Fondly remembering our cousin Steve as the kind, good, gentle giant that he was. Praying for consolation for Maryellen. his children and siblings and all who love and miss him. His spirit lives on and we will see him again. ❤️🙏
