Shannon HynesFriday, October 23rd

Liz and Family I am deeply sorry to hear of your loss. Bruce was a very kind person you could tell he was so proud and dedicated to his family. Always on the field or at Dance recitals. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.
Fondly, Shannon, Teagan and Taryn Hynes.

Liz and family, Ora and I are very sorry to hear the sad news. We don't have much of the family so the son of my only cousin is as close as can be. Please accept our deepest condolences.

You were an amazing person and our years working together were some great ones. Your intelligence and imagination were so appreciated by me and whoever you came into contact with. It was an honor to be your friend.

May I say from the entire BAT community that we will be lost without Bruce M. We couldn't wait for Bruce to chime in with his vast knowledge whenever there was a Mercedes AMG being offered for sale. And, it was so entertaining when he had his own vehicles up for sale. I looked forward to the day that I finally purchased one of his cars so that I could go and personally retrieve it and have a one on one with "the man". We never met him personally, but we all felt like we knew him and certainly liked and admired him.

So sad to hear of Bruce's passing.

I know he was very sick from the Wuhan virus in the spring and it took him a few weeks to recover. It's a cruel irony he beat the virus which is upending the world only to pass away from other causes later the same year.

Bruce was very well regarded in the Mercedes-Benz community. Here is a link to a page on the Benzworld forum where members pay tribute to his memory: https://www.benzworld.org/threads/sad-news-bruce-mendel.3062299/#post-18095356

RIP

Elizabeth, please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. Bruce was a very unique BaT member. I met him only once. He influenced me and changed my view on AMG cars. Rest in Peace Bruce!

Liz and Family - we are so very sorry to hear of Bruce's passing, Bruce was always there to help as a neighbor and give us a smile when we said hello when we would meet at the end of our driveways. He was one of the good ones and he will be missed.

Some years ago, I sold my '04 Audi allroad 4.2 to Bruce after having had any number of QuattroWorld internet "conversations" with him about one thing and another. His Audi expertise and his sense of humor were unmatched. Anyway, we agreed on a price, he sent a transport company to pick up the car here in Michigan, and his check in full payment arrived promptly. A week later, he got in touch to tell me the car wasn't quite what he thought, and that it had had previous body repairs. I had purchased the car from a Chicago Audi dealer, and no such repair was ever disclosed. I immediately offered to take the car back and return his money. "No, he said. Not your fault.”I still felt bad.

A few weeks later, I heard from him in an email, "Watch your mail. I may have a Mother's Day present coming your way." A few days thereafter, an envelope arrives from Bruce. Inside was a check for $750, and a note saying, "I did better than I expected on your car."

Gosh, I'll miss Bruce's Bring a Trailer auctions always enlivened by his hilarious posts and car knowledge. Most of all, I'll just miss knowing that his fun spirit inhabited the same planet as I.

My sincere condolences to his spouse and especially to his children.

While I never met Bruce in person, I feel like I lost a friend. We tried a few times to make a deal on a car and it just never worked out. But that didn't stop Bruce from being a great resource and sounding board for my concerns as I navigated the world of used Mercedes, V-12s!
His humour was always on display and he developed a passionate following on BAT.com I know he will be missed by many people that he helped live out their dreams of affording (using his quote) "supercar performance for Camry money". WIthout Bruce's help and input, I would have never had 3 glorious years owning the best car I've ever driven. I'll always be thankful to him for that.

I wish all the best to his wife and children. Know that Bruce was one of the good ones and has positively touched the lives of hundreds, if not thousands of people as saddened, loyal fans.

Elizabeth and kids. I will continue to pray for you. I’m deeply saddened. All I can say is OMG!!! I’ve been reaching out to Bruce as he has some parts for me. I can’t believe this tragedy. We talked about his dads passing, prayed about his and Elizabeth’s COVID. I just emailed him today as he has been MIA since his father passed last month. I had/have two Bruce cars. He was a great resource and a great, funny, witty guy. Just shocking. He is a mythic figure on BAT with an army of fans. Although global it is a close community. Bruce will be missed like none other.

I too “met” Bruce through his online presence. I enjoyed his humor and vast knowledge about cars and you could tell about his love of his family from reading his posts. I conversed with him multiple times when I questions about my cars and he helped me despite the fact that I had never bought from him. When he messed up his knee, I gave him some medical insight on his expected recovery. What a great guy, I am saddened by his passing and just wanted you to know that he was known and appreciated far and wide.

Bruce is sorely missed and mourned by the BaT community that he had such an effect on, most that didn't even know him personally. I can't imagine the pain his loved ones' must feel. I'm so sorry for your loss.

There's not a lot to say, and I will never have enough words to say them. I miss you so incredibly, Dad. I hope wherever you are, whatever you're doing, you're having so many amazing experiences and have so many more amazing stories to tell. I'm so sad there's so much I never got to experience and I'm so devastated that there's so many things left unfinished. I hope that I can do the best as possibly by and for you. Love you.

Please let me add my condolences for your loss. Bruce set an example for everyone with his honesty, wit, knowledge and experience. I was very fortunate to meet him just last year through BaT, and in the short time I knew him, he renewed my passion for cars, and the car-loving community. Bruce’s passion will live with me forever.

I own two Brucemobiles, and both have been absolutely dependable and trustworthy. Just like Bruce.
