Dear Joan, Jean, Ruth and Walter Jr: I am so sorry for all of you at this sad time. The world has lost a kind, gentle and wonderful man of God. I hope that memories of him will sustain all of you. Even harder for you at this time, is the present situation of the world. I am sure you know that he is in heaven, smiling down on you and all of us who have been blessed to know him. Many thoughts, prayers and love to all.
Condolences for Walter N. Gustafson
Dear Joan and family. We are sorry for your loss and how sweet to know Walter is with His Lord and has seen him face to face . There will be no time limits there and his record is on high . We had great respect for our brother and had many good times together at conferences and in our home. You Joan and the family will be restricted at this pandemic time but may the Lord guide and bless His Word to all your hearts. “Absent from the body- at home with the Lord”
To the beloved Gustafson family,
There really was - and always will be - only one Walter Gustafson. He was unique and remarkable. To many people up and down the East Coast of the United States, and throughout North America, he was an "institution," someone whom we just always expected to "be there." It saddens many of us that the limitations imposed by this virus deny us the opportunity of showing him the respect he deserves. I hope it will cheer your heart to know that the Lord Jesus faces no such limitations and will eternally reward Walter for the life that was lived for God's glory. Nancy joins me in sending our deep sympathy and love in the Lord to all the family.
Sincerely in our Lord Jesus,
Gene and Nancy Higgins
Our love and prayers are with you all in rememberance of such a wonderful Saint and preacher!
Dear Loving Family of Bro. Gustafson,
Sending warm sympathy and Love in the Lord to each of you. It was wonderful the Lord gave him such a long life lived for the Lord in many ways with such a remarkable memory that he used wisely. We have missed his visits in the Midwest these past years. He was always interested in the saints and had a warm smile. May the memories bring comfort to the family.
Warmly in the Lord Jesus Christ,
Charleen
Thinking of you Joan and family. We are very saddened but he isn’t! Praying for comfort for your sad hearts.

We are so sorry at the loss of Walter. He was much loved and will be missed. Losing parents is never easy, but the Lord is able to provide comfort.

Dear Joan & Family,
Seems like yesterday when you and Walter were courting. You would stay with Rita (Wacome) and Walter would stay with us. Those days are hard to forget since on a daily basis Walter would say concerning you Joan, "I Love her" and we thought it was so wonderful to see the Lord blessing Walter with another faithful help meet (fit just for him) after the loss of Grace. We will never forget the many conferences and meetings with Walter over the years.
Remember the surprise 86th birthday party we threw for him at the hall? He never saw that coming. He was such a sincere servant of the Lord. So many great memories. We hate to see him go, yet we are glad he is enjoying the Lord's presence. The Lord preserve and bless you all in the coming days.
Sincerely, Jeff & Karen Mills
Dear Joan and family,
Walter was so thoughtful and kind.
I remember when he called and prayed with me. I really appreciated it. I lost two husbands, so maybe I know what you feel.
Sam remembers Walter's awesome memory and quirky sense of humor. Our hearts are with the whole family at this time of grief. May the Lord comfort you.
Much love,
Arletta Smith and Sam Long
