Condolences for Raymond M. Spratt

Richard NeedhamSunday, July 26th

So sorry to hear of Ray’s passing. I knew Ray from my years in FDA when he taught courses in employee relations. He gave excellent and thoughtful advice for those difficult situations that managers face from time to time. I also have fond memories of glimpsing Ray jogging along Montgomery Avenue in Bryn Mawr as I drove by. May he Rest In Peace.

Ray was my first instructor in labor relations. He then provided training to an entire federal agency nationwide in labor relations law. He then provided hands-on win-win instruction to the same agency representatives in preparation for national negotiators. He even went out of his way to allow my daughter to attend and witness the conduct of an actual mediation at the EEOC. I retired and haven’t seen Ray for many years. Yet his passing is very raw and very sad. He knew so much and shared so much but never trumpeted his unlimited knowledge and touching personal charm. I will always miss him.
