Condolences for Leon Redbone

Dana EhrerFriday, May 31st

Leon’s music has always brought me joy. As a music historian I’ve always appreciated his musical skill and historical accuracy. I live right over the Delaware in NJ and wished I could hear him perform live, but I will always treasure his recordings.

I have followed Leon from beginning to end. There will never be anyone like Leon pass this way again.

May your family find comfort as “the hearer of prayer” embraces their hearts (Psalms 94:19). We hope that the many cards, hugs, kind words, cherished memories, and loving prayers sustains your family during this most difficult time.

To Beryl, A and B -- Thank you for sharing him and his incredible gifts with the world. Love him as a friend as well as loving his art. We worked on a research project for him a few years ago. His quest? Find the true location of the Sylvan Club in TX, for a while the hangout of his beloved Lee Morse. It was a charmed time.

Leon, your music and style have been a great joy and happiness to me over the many years. Got the pleasure of meeting you a few times. Always nice and willing to stop and talk . Which meant a lot to one of his biggest fans. Seen many of his shows and enjoyed all! See you on the other side. R.I.P
My condolences to Leon's family. God bless.

I’m sorry I didn’t leave a note sooner, but my daughter passed May 1st 2019.
Your music, your voice, brought the greatest joy to me and my family. We played it at our daughters’ weddings, and I played for my grandchildren too. Miss you.
