Grazia "Lella" Sargente (Nitti)

Grazia Nitti Sargente died Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Doylestown Hospital. She was 91 years old.

Grazia, or Lella as she was affectionately known, was the beloved wife of the late Mario Sargente. Their love story began when they were introduced by mutual friends, which led to Mario traveling to Italy to marry the love of his life.

Born in Castellana Grotte, Bari, Italy, Lella was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Maria Leone Nitti. She was the sister of the late Sabino and Maria Nitti, Rosa and Gino Montanaro and Nina Nitti. She is the sister-in-law of the late Helen Niejako, Gloria and Stephen Slomko, Dorothy and James Hasemann and Miro Dansi.

Lella was a resident of Demarest, NJ for 53 years, when she then moved to Ann’s Choice in Warminster, PA to be closer to family.

She was a talented seamstress and salesperson at a women’s boutique clothing store in Cresskill, NJ for many years. Lella was also passionate about cooking—no one ever left her home with an empty stomach. She treasured her time with family and friends and was adored by everyone who crossed paths with her. She especially loved spending quality time with loved ones at her home in the Poconos.

Lella will be missed by her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Bernadette Sargente, John and Lisa Sargente and Richard and Dawn Sargente; her grandchildren, Kristin, Robert, Gina and Frank Steinbuch, and Nicholas; her step-grandchildren Ashley and Tylere; her great-grandchild, Alora Lella; her step-great-grandchild, Cullen Grice. She is also survived by her sisters Giusy Dansi and Tonia Nitti, her sister-in-law, Evelyn and Angelo DiGregorio and her brother-in-law Bob Niejako.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Lella’s family for a visitation on Friday September 20th 2024, from 11:00am until 1:00pm, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00pm, both at St. Vincent de Paul’s Church at 654 Hatboro Road, Richboro, PA 18954.
