Helen "Becky" Spinelli (Beck)
Helen “Becky” Spinelli, 75 years old of Langhorne, PA passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 14th surrounded by her loving family. Becky was born in 1949 in Philadelphia to the late John Beck and Ruth Matthias. Becky was a graduate of St. Hubert Catholic High School; and soon thereafter, began working at the United States Treasury Department, where she would meet her future husband. Becky and Mike married and moved to Langhorne. They started a family and spent the next 52 years together raising their children and navigating life.
Becky was one of the most compassionate and generous people you could have ever met. Upon her retirement from Neshaminy School District, Becky spent much of her time volunteering for numerous charities, including Meals on Wheels, Catholic Social Services, Toys for Tots, and Family Service Association of Bucks County. You could always find Becky helping out at the local food pantry, organizing and distributing winter jackets, or packing school supplies into backpacks for the upcoming school year. She supported various organizations, most especially the Vietnam Veterans, ALS, and just about any and every animal-related cause. She lived out her unending passion and empathy for animals every day through the care and love she showed for her sweet and beloved cat, Josey.
Becky loved life- loved being with people, and she relished in every new adventure or person she would meet. Becky’s favorite hobbies included, spending time with her family, Penn State football (We are…), rooting for her Phils, and our annual family vacation to Virginia Beach.
Becky’s presence in the lives of her family and all of those who loved her will never be forgotten. Her impact was profound, leaving us with an unfillable void. She was always loving, always caring, always helping. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Becky is survived by her husband, Michael Spinelli; her three loving daughters, Debbie Burger (Chuck), Carrie Spinelli, and Tracey Spinelli (Laura); her grandchildren, Meghan, Lindsay, Matthew, and James, to whom she was affectionately known as Mom-Mom. She was the sister of the late John Beck (Betty Ann) and Robert Beck (Linda). She is also survived by her niece, nephews, relatives and friends. All of whom she cared for and loved deeply and to the fullest.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, September 21st from 9am-11am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road, Richboro, PA. A funeral service will follow and interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
