Monica L. Deaver (Peters)

Monica Lynne Deaver, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 8, 2024 in the Hospital at the University of Penn, surrounded by her loving family. She was 69 years old. Monica was the loving wife to James P. Deaver, Sr. of 51 years.

Born on June 23, 1955, in Pomona, CA, Monica was the daughter of the late Kenneth Mack Peters and Melba LaMae Peters (Crowell).

Monica graduated from Upland High School, Chaffey Community College and after moving to Pennsylvania in 1991 earned a Bachelor of Science degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Temple University as well as a MBA, Magna Cum Laude, from Temple.

Prior to moving to Pennsylvania Monica worked for the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s office as a paralegal. She retired from SKF (Lansdale office) in 2015 as a Marketing Manager.

Monica’s passions, aside from her love of family and friends, included cooking/baking and planning/hosting of events and gathering. While employed at SKF she chaired the Company’s annual Christmas party for a number of years.  She was also an active member of Encores Club of Doylestown, where until last year served as a Committee Chair for several years.

Along with her husband James, Monica is survived by her children, Mandy LaMae Deaver, James Phillip Deaver, Jr., David Hoffman Weaver; daughter-in-law Jill L. Weaver; granddaughters, Emma M. Deaver, Madison M. Squires; siblings, Mabel and Paul Joseph.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18901 from 11:00 am until her Celebration of Life with a time of sharing at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Monica’s name may be made to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, 875 N. Randolph Street, Suite 225, Arlington, VA 22203.
