Rita M. Stephens

Rita M. Stephens (neé McGinnis) passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at her residence. She was 85 years old.

Rita was the beloved wife of William E. Stephens; the couple shared 68 years of friendship, laughter, love and family.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Rita was the daughter of the late Benedict Patrick and Rita (Mee) McGinnis.

In addition to her husband William, Rita will be missed by her children and their spouses, the late William M. Stephens, Benedict P. Stephens (Patricia) of Ivyland, Rita Marie Kerr (Kevin) of Boyertown, Guy J. Stephens (Anita) of Bensalem, the late Cecelia Neill (Chalie) of Philadelphia; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Mickey McGinnis, Regina “Jeanie” Cahill, the late Cecelia McGinnis, Benny McGinnis, Mary Theresa Golaschevsky, as well as many extended family members and beloved friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Rita’s family from on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 10:00am, until the start of her Funeral Mass at 11:00am, in the St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 856 Eculid Avenue, Warrington, PA 18976. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rita’s memory may be made to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, 3401 Civic Center Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19104.
