Joseph "Joe" W. Kay

Joseph W. Kay (Joe Kay) of Perkasie, PA passed away on Sunday June 2, 2024, following a tragic accident. He was 35. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Coleman Hay Farms, 138 Walter Rd. Chalfont, PA beginning at 12:00 noon. Family and friends will be speaking beginning at 3:30. In order to honor Joe’s zest for life, his family requests guests wear casual attire with color.

Joe was born on May 8th, 1989 in Doylestown, PA, and graduated from Central Bucks East High School, class of 2007. For the past 20 years, he has worked as an electrician alongside his father, and was Vice President for John W. Kay Electrical Contractors, of Richboro, PA.

Joe lived life to the fullest, and to know him was to love him. He worked hard, learning lessons about construction and life from his dad. When he wasn’t helping a friend, Joe was happiest spending time with his friends and family. His home was his sanctuary and he and his wife Rachel warmly welcomed everyone who visited. Joe believed in giving back to his community and volunteered with the Plumsteadville Fire Company in his younger years. In 2012, he was awarded Firefighter of the Year.

Joe loved the outdoors and enjoyed taking his dogs on long walks or just basking in the beauty of his back yard. He loved traveling to Vermont and driving his 1991 Jeep along the river with Rachel and their dogs, Coopy and Lucy, for Sunday coffee.

Joe was a Mid-Atlantic Racing Sprint Series fan favorite as he took the wheel of his #12 Sprint Car on the racetrack. He was loved for his talent but even more for his sportsmanship and heart.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 3 years, Rachel; his parents John W. and Susan (Quigley) Kay; in-laws, Pam and Steve Salera; and brother-in-law Peter Salera and grandfather Jack Kay. He is also mourned by his 3 devoted sisters and their spouses: Shannon A. Rittenhouse (Corey), Lauren A. Etter (Jon), and Megan K. McBride (Dennis) and 8 eight cherished nieces and nephews: Carson, Callum, and Sloane Rittenhouse; Landon, Garrett, and Charlotte Etter; and Bridget and Sean McBride. He is preceded in death by his loving grandparents Arline and Donald Quigley and Elizabeth Kay.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe’s name to the Plumsteadville Fire Company 5064 Stump Rd. Plumsteadville, PA 18949.
