M. Charlotte Yeager (Bucknam)

M. Charlotte Yeager, 91, of Doylestown, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 28, 2022 with family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick H. Yeager, who passed away in 2009.

Born March 4, 1931 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Austin H. Bucknam and Marjorie (Murphy) Pedersen.

As a young girl Charlotte enjoyed spending her summers on the beaches of Strathmere, NJ. After her marriage to Frederick Yeager she attended Temple University’s school of nursing, where she earned her certificate as a registered nurse.

Throughout her career she worked as a floor nurse at Temple Hospital, a charge nurse at Richboro Nursing Home, and the Director of Emergency Management Services for Bucks County, where she developed the county’s EMT program.

She was a proud Baptist and a long-time member of the Rhawnhurst Presbyterian Church.

Charlotte’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren; devoting much of her time and energy to them as they grew up.

She enjoyed staying in touch with her old friends, especially her group of long-time girlfriends known as the “sorority”, and was an avid reader who enjoyed Harlequin Romances and tabloids. Some of her other interests were doing crossword puzzles, reading the dictionary, catalog shopping, watching animal shows, and singing hymns aloud.

Survivors include two children, Beth Palau (Bernie) of Doylestown and Rick Yeager (Lisa) of Secane; and two grandchildren, Wyatt and Kayla.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 10:30 am until the funeral service at 11:30 am at Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, with the interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville.

Contributions in Charlotte’s name can be made to the ASPCA, https://www.aspca.org/ .
