Kathleen "Katie" M. Cassidy (Carr)

Kathleen “Katie” Marie Cassidy passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at her home in Newtown, Pennsylvania. She was 33 years old. Born in Huntington, New York, Katie is the beloved daughter of Jean Anne and Michael Patrick Carr.  She is the loving mother of the Grace Margaret, Kelly Jean, Michael James and Daniel Robert, and wife of Michael Kevin Cassidy.

Katie faced many challenges in her short time here on Earth. No matter the circumstances, she handled herself with dignity and demonstrated great strength. Her children were her priority. Despite all odds, she lovingly carried Grace, knowing that she would join God in heaven soon after she was born. For five beautiful days after Grace's birth, Katie showered Grace with love, adoration, and affection. At that time, Katie did not sleep so she would not miss a single second of the short time she had with beautiful Grace.

During the darkest years the Pennsylvania Carr family faced, Katie went on the have Kelly and then Michael. Her Irish twins were a blessing that the family needed after much sorrow from losing Jean Anne from a long battle with cancer.

Katie’s strength and grace would be further tested while pregnant with Daniel when she was diagnosed with a severe form of stomach cancer. Katie sacrificed herself and went through grueling treatment and tests, all to produce a safe and healthy Daniel. Moreover, her diagnosis saved the lives of 8 others (and counting) in her family who were able to get genetic testing and have the prophylactic surgery needed to prevent this deadly form of cancer which took her mother’s life.

While Katie joins her mother Jean, daughter Grace, and grandparents, Charles and Margaret Carr and Matthew and Anne Mayer in heaven; her father, Michael will miss his beautiful “Katie-girl.” She will be missed tremendously by her brother, Michael Carr II, and her sister and brother-in-law, Jenny and Justin Chimera. Katie is also survived and will be missed by many special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Katie’s family asks everyone to remember her strength, her fierce and feisty attitude, her quick wit, and her dedication and loyalty to family.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Katie’s life and share their memories of her, Wednesday, May 4, 2022, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Joseph A Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Road, at Holland Road in Richboro, Pennsylvania 18954 and also on Thursday, May 5, 2022 , at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road in Newtown, Pennsylvania, 18940, from 10:00am until the start of her Funeral Mass at 11:00am.

Her interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, where she will join her mother, Jean, and daughter, Grace.
