Joseph LaRocca III
Joseph LaRocca, III of Hilltown, died peacefully at his home with his family at his side on Saturday April 16, 2022 after a heroic 4 year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 70 years old.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the beloved husband of 36 years to Nancy (DeeDee) P. LaRocca, son of Irene Finnegan LaRocca and the late Joseph LaRocca, Jr. In addition to his beloved wife DeeDee and mother Irene, he is the proud father of Michele I. LaRocca of Delray Beach, Fl., and Anne Clarke LaRocca of Hilltown, brother of Irene Behling of Chalfont, Barbara Ganther of Ottsville, and Michael LaRocca and his wife Susanne of Horsham
Joe was a resident of Hilltown for the past 35 years. He was a graduate of Archbishop Wood High School, class of 1969, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Penn State University.
Joe was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served in Vietnam for 2 years. After his discharge from the Marines, Joe started his professional career in Pharmaceutical Sales, serving the greater Delaware Valley. In 2008 Joe was hired by the Order of the Purple Heart where he was a veteran’s advocate, helping disabled veterans get their benefits. He was a faithful communicate of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish and member of the Knights of Columbus, Council # 9736. Unfortunately, Joe was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2018. With excellent care from the VA and University of Pennsylvania, Joe was able to stay ahead of his diagnosis and enjoy his last four years.
He so looked forward to being with his wife and daughters on trips to sunny Florida and sitting on the beach under a palm tree with a refreshing drink in his hand. Joe also enjoyed doing puzzles, building model cars, computer games, and hosting his annual Labor Day picnic. He was a man who loved his family, his dogs and kitties, and his country. He loved life, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Joe’s family will receive condolences on Thursday April 21, 2022 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 100 Broad St., Hilltown, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00am.
