Jeanette E. Dudek (Kozyra)

Jeanette Dudek passed on March 31, 2022 at her home in Fairfax, Virginia after a resilient life at the age of 92. Jeanette was the loving devoted wife of 64 years to Joe Dudek who pre-deceased her in 2017. She is survived by her children, Donna Dudek and Debbie and Rick Perreault. “Babcia” will be missed by her grandchildren Maggie, Katie, and Joseph. She was born in Jamaica, NY to the late John and Stella Kozyra. She was the second of four children and is survived by her sister Marilyn and her husband Peter.

Jeanette was a valued team member of BOAC (now British Airways) at Kennedy airport until the birth of her children. She generously chose to be a stay-at-home mom and was active in supporting PS 100 in Queens where the girls went. She had been known to break up a fight or two as a lobby guard. Family was always a tremendous priority in her life. She was the driving force behind moving the family to Farmingdale, NY, where she and Joe lived happily for 35 years.

Her volunteer efforts continued throughout her life with various organizations - Homemakers Council on Long Island, The Grumman Care Cats, the Columbiettes associated with the Monsignor Delaney Council, and at her parish St. James Church in Seaford. NY.  She had a wonderful creative side that can be seen in the ceramics, artwork, and afghans that she made.

Being very proud of her heritage, she and Joe were very active in the Polish American community in New York. They frequently could be found at dances in Port Washington or Port Jefferson.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18901.
