Anthony J. Scornaienchi Jr.

Anthony J. Scornaienchi, Jr., 67, of Holland, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Winifred M. “Winnie” Scornaienchi.

Born November 26, 1954 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Anthony J. and Mary E. (Earussi) Scornaienchi, Sr.

Originally from Philadelphia, Tony was from a tried-and-true Italian American family and brought his heritage into every aspect of his life. He was a proud graduate of North Catholic High School in 1972 before attending two years of classes at Villanova University. He met and married the love of his life, Winnie, in 1981 and went on to open and successfully run his own business, Samartino Bros. Roofing. Tony was a proud roofer and even prouder father. Charlotte is a true daddy’s girl with Anthony being his namesake and pride and joy. Dominic, his youngest, was the light of his life. Later in life, he became the proud father-in-law to Adam, whom he admired.

Tony adored his Northampton Presbyterian Church family and was a proud member of the Berean Men’s Church Choir for many years. Tony’s favorite, however, was his beloved Beachcomber in Wildwood. He loved the Jersey Shore and everything that came along with it, from fishing and crabbing, to his golf cart and his Beachcomber family.

Tony’s motto was to find a sense of humor in everything, right down to the health challenges he faced throughout the past 13 years. Even in his final days, he kept everyone he knew and loved laughing. Tony was a hero in life in how he persevered through the many obstacles in his path, then went on to serve as a hero in death as he donated eligible organs to those in need and to the purpose of research, to better the lives of others who face the same challenges he did. He will be forever missed and celebrated daily.

Along with his wife, Winnie, Anthony is survived by three children, Charlotte Marie Scornaienchi-Erace (Adam), Anthony John Scornaienchi, III, and Dominic Michele Scornaienchi, all of Philadelphia.
