Bernhard William Doettger Jr.

Bernhard William Doettger, Jr., of Warminster, PA died on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Doylestown Hospital. He was 83.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Bernhard William Doettger Sr. and Helen Brenner Doettger.

Bernie worked most of life in the family tile business B. Doettger and Son, which his father and he started. He was later joined in the tile business by Billy, his oldest, as a partner, and sons David and Kurt, who also spent time working with him and learning the trade. He instilled a work ethic to excel that all his boys carry with them today.

Bernie also loved the outdoors, especially time on the water. He loved to canoe, and his favorite place was the Boundry Waters Canoe Area in Minnesota. His enjoyment of the water was also passed on to his children.

He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his dogs also.

He is survived by his three sons William Ahn-Doettger and his wife Christa Ahn-Doettger of Sellersville, PA, Kurt W. Doettger, of Portland, OR, and David Doettger, and his wife Cynthia, of Chalfont, and his sister Gertrude Hadermann of Churchville, PA. He is also survived by his former wife; Judith (Wood) Doettger of Warminster and his grandchildren; Courtney and her husband Cody, Joshua and his wife Michelle, Matthew, Joalyn and her husband Cody, Fiseha and Solomon and his great-grandchildren; Ava, Shea, Charli, Wyatt and Westley.

His family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 10:00am until his Funeral Service 11:00am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave., (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18901. His interment will be held privately at a later date in Minnesota.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Bucks County SPCA, PO Box 277, Lahaska, PA 18931.
