Elaine Donaghy (McGowan)

Elaine Marie Donaghy passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022, surrounded by her loving family, at her home in Richboro. She was 78.

Born April 1, 1943, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary Fitzpatrick McGowan, and the beloved wife of Daniel J. Donaghy, Sr., to whom she was married 57 years.

Elaine spent forty years as a Bucks County Community College trained Registered Nurse. She worked in just about all the major hospitals in Lower Bucks County both on the patient floors and in the operating room. Elaine loved to read and was a member of the Northampton Township Library book club.

In addition to her husband, Elaine is survived by her daughter Maureen Donaghy MacPherson and her husband Shawn; her son Daniel J. Donaghy, Jr. and his wife Audrey; her brother John J. McGowan, and his wife Dolores; her sister Mary McGowan Nowak, and her husband William; sister in law Jane McGowan; and her four beloved grandchildren, Victoria and Jacob MacPherson and Daniel III and Maxwell Donaghy. In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her brother Joseph F. McGowan.

Relatives and friends are invited to join Elaine’s family at her visitation from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd (at Holland Rd), Richboro, PA 18954. A committal service will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
