Dolores R. Taylor (Reed)

Dolores Ruth Taylor passed away peacefully January 10, 2022, at her home in Fredericksburg, Virginia, surrounded by her loving family. She was 89.

Born November 10, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth Gallagher Reed, and the beloved wife of her high school sweetheart, the late John A. Taylor, Jr., to whom she was married an amazing 67 years until his passing in 2017.

Dolores grew up in Philadelphia and graduated from Mastbaum High School. She went on to raise four children before entering the workforce as a rental agent for Korman Suites at Meadowbrook in Huntington Valley for nearly twenty years. She remained active in her community, volunteering at St. Mary’s Hospital and dominating the Senior Olympics for years after her retirement.

Dolores is survived by: her daughters Jacqui Porter (Gary) and Kim Ryan (Tim); her son John Taylor; her seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Sheri Marie Ryan; and siblings Nancy, Thomas, and Bobby.

Relatives and friends are invited to join Dolores’ family at her visitation on Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 9:30 AM until Words of Remembrance at 10:25 AM, followed by her funeral mass at 10:30 AM, at St. Vincent de Paul Church – 654 Hatboro Rd, Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or online at www.stjude.org.
