Ruth Curtier Sweeney (Strunk)

Ruth Curtier Sweeney, 71, of Washington Crossing, passed away in her home surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, December 20, 2021.

Born August 1, 1950 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Carolyn (Clayton) Strunk and sister of the late Robert C. Strunk. 

Ruth was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and wife.  She was a math teacher for 30 years at Morrisville High School.  After retiring she continued her love of teaching with a position supervising student teachers through the College of New Jersey.  In her free time Ruth thoroughly enjoyed singing with several church choirs and was very honored to join and sing with the Bucks County Choral Society for several years.  She loved traveling, gardening, water aerobics, and bible study but her greatest love was her family.  She loved to spend as much time as possible with her family whether at home, at the beach or in the mountains along the creek.    

Survivors include two children, Diana C. White and her husband William of Biglerville, PA, Kevin S. Curtier and his wife Amber of Warminster, PA; Sister-in-Law Nancy Strunk of Washington Crossing, PA; four stepchildren, Mary Ellen Sweeney and her husband Tom Lam of Monrovia, CA, Edward Sweeney Jr. and his wife Dr. Holly Moeller of Goleta, CA, Elizabeth Sweeney and her husband Michael Quindlen of Baltimore, MD, and Catherine (Sweeney) Maciunas and her husband Nick of Bronxville, NY; five grandchildren, Mackenzie and Katherine White, Mason, Reed, and Ashlyn Curtier ; four step-grandchildren, Owen and Lucy Maciunas and Nathan and Dylan Lam.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Keith W. Curtier, and her second husband of 2 years, Edward Sweeney Sr.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, and again on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at Newtown Cemetery, Newtown.
