Joseph F. McConlogue

Joseph F. McConlogue of Doylestown and formerly of Havertown and Brigantine, NJ died peacefully on Thursday, December 15, 2021 at Pine Run Health Care in Doylestown.  He was 93.

Born in Philadelphia, PA Joe was the beloved husband of the late Regina M. Casey McConlogue and the son of the late James and Virginia Winum McConlogue.

Joe was a 1942 graduate of St. Denis Elementary School, a 1946 graduate of West Catholic High School and a 1953 graduate of Villanova University.  He served in the U.S. Army as part of the Army’s Occupation of Japan in 1946-1947 and was later employed by Sylvania Electric in Salem, MA from 1953 until 1958.  Joe was a longtime employee of Campbell Soup where he served in various positions including Manager of Pricing, Manager of Financial Planning, and Controller for Food Service.  He Retired in 1988.  While living in Brigantine, NJ he was president and then Treasurer of the “Brigantine Effort for Government Improvement Now”.  A successful political movement to change the form of municipal government.  He was a volunteer at the Atlantic City Medical Center, Pomona Division and also had his Real Estate License.

Joe is survived by his loving and devoted children; Joseph McConlogue Jr. and his wife Kathy of Harrisburg, PA, Mary Skorupa and her husband John of Doylestown, PA, Karen Goodwin and her husband Michael of Perkasie, Kevin McConlogue and his wife LizAnne, of Ridley Park, PA, Regina McConlogue of West Chester, Robert McConlogue and his wife Karen of Madison, MS, and David McConlogue and his wife Megan of West Chester.  He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe’s family will receive friends on Thursday, December 23, 2021 from 9:00AM until his Funeral Mass 10:30AM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 100 Broad Street Hilltown, PA 18927.  His interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made Villanova Athletic Fund, 800 Lancaster Ave., Villanova, PA 19085.
