Joseph P Gorniak Jr.

Joseph P Gorniak, Jr., of Holland, PA died Monday, December 13, 2021 at Holy Redeemer Hospital in Abington. He was 84 years old.

Joseph was the husband of the late Rosalie Maryanski Gorniak.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph P and Helen Peszek Gorniak. He is the father of the late Anthony Gorniak and brother of the late Paul Gorniak.

Joseph worked for Amtrak for many years. When he retired, he enjoyed going to the Northampton Township senior center and playing cards. One of his favorite pastimes was watching college and professional football. As well, he attended church at St. Bede’s every week until Covid-19 changed the world. He then worshipped from home by witnessing the mass on television.

Joseph will be remembered by his children, Michele and Joseph Haas, Darci Gorniak and Sharon Wright; his four grandchildren, Joseph (Julie), Jamie (Chris), Tyler, Ashley and his grand-dog Mozart; his great grandchildren, Aidan, Hudson, Remi and Thomas; his sister-in-law, Christine Aguado (Frank). Joseph is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends, including his best friend Charles Niemann.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Joseph’s family on Monday, December 20, 2021, from 10:00am until the start of his Funeral Mass, 11:00, at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road in Holland, PA 18966. His interment, with military honors, will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, at a later date.
