Mary Ann Spadafora (Dolente)

Mary Ann Spadafora, a longtime resident of Holland, PA, passed away suddenly at her home on Thursday, November 25, 2021.  She was 93.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ida Gentile Dolente and the loving wife of the late Michael Spadafora Jr, who passed earlier this year, a month short of their 70th wedding anniversary.

Mary Ann was a woman of many talents, loved by all who knew her.   A consummate hostess, she loved entertaining friends and family for holidays, special events and just plain, weekly dinners.   No one ever left her home hungry.

Although she had a background in administrative work, both in the banking and medical fields, her true love was cooking.  For many years Mary Ann and her best friend Therese had a small catering business, in which she could express her talent and creativity in the culinary arts.  Her eye for detail was second to none.

An avid reader, Mary Ann was always interested in medicine, history and current events.   She surrounded herself with books.  On the day Mary Ann passed from this earth, she was in the middle of reading a long biography of John Adams.  She loved having discussions about the books she read.

Mary Ann’s devotion to her family was immeasurable.  She was a supportive and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend.    She is survived by her loving and devoted children:  Dr. Michael Spadafora (Susan) of Richboro, PA, Joann Lichtenwalner(Glenn) of Silverdale, PA, Dr. Robert Spadafora of Holland, PA, and Marguerite Lantzy (Dr. Robert) of New Hope, PA; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday evening, December 3, 2021 from 5-7 PM and on Saturday morning from 8:30-9:30 AM at the Joseph A Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18966, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966.  Her interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary Ann’s name to St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd. Holland, PA 18966.
