Peter R. Buccilli

Peter R. Buccilli of Doylestown, PA, passed away peacefully at Doylestown Hospital surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, November 25, 2021. He was 90 years old.

Born in Cleveland, OH, Peter was the son of the late Anthony and Agnes DeCastro Buccilli, and the brother to the late Rosalyn Fratantonio and Angela Leehan. He has lived in Bucks County, PA, since 1973 with his beloved wife, Geraldine L. Patrick Buccilli, to whom he was married for 61 years. He was a proud veteran of the Air Force who served his country honorably during the Korean War.

Most importantly, Peter was a devoted family man and a loyal friend. He cherished every moment spent with those around him — whether he was taking in the Swiss Alps with his wife, hiking the national parks with his grandsons, making his famous homemade raviolis for a special occasion, playing cards and laughing with his friends until the early morning hours, sharing a banana with his adoring granddog Maya, or of course, playing a round of golf with his buddies.

Peter approached each day with an open and inquisitive mind. He worked as a physicist for General Electric for nine-and-a-half years, where he earned multiple patents. In 1973, he joined Eaton, where he spent the remainder of his career working in manufacturing engineering. Peter loved mentoring the young engineers at Eaton. His passion for problem solving continued throughout his lifetime as he took time each day to solve word puzzles and put together complex jigsaw puzzles.

In addition to his beloved wife Gerry, Peter is survived by his loving and devoted children: Bruce Buccilli and his wife Margaret of Bozeman, MT; Elizabeth Burns and her husband William of Doylestown, PA; and Katherine Ikier and her husband Scott of McCall, ID. He is also survived by his two grandchildren: Kevin Burns, and Tyler Burns and his wife Jennifer.

Peter was truly one of a kind — a gentle soul who met each and every person with overwhelming warmth and friendliness. He was ever positive and saw the very best in every person, situation, and experience. He had the incredible ability to make a lasting impact on everyone he met. Peter was so many things to so many people that words cannot capture — a husband, father, grandfather, friend, mentor, inspiration. Peter will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure to have had him in their life.

Peter’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, December 13, 2021, from 10:30AM until his funeral service at 12:00 noon in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. Richboro, PA 18954. His interment with Military Funeral Honors will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675 or to the American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Road, Suite 150 Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
